Continuity Program Managers play an important role in their organization’s Continuity Program. This new course provides an overview of the requirements for a viable continuity program and aims to help continuity program managers understand their role and responsibilities and provides resources to assist them in organizing, developing and maintaining their organization’s Continuity Program. The newly revised course discusses relevant changes to the new PPD 40, FCD 1 and 2 and CGC.

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to do the following:
• Define Continuity.
• Explain the benefits of a viable continuity program.
• Identify the roles and responsibilities of key personnel.
• Identify the elements of a viable continuity program.
• Identify continuity processes, resources, and tasks necessary to implement and manage a successful Continuity program.

Successful completion of IS 547 Introduction to Continuity of Operations

Employees responsible for developing and managing COOP/COG programs for their organizations and those participating as Continuity Personnel in a COOP Program at the Federal, State, Tribal, Territorial, and Local Level of government as well as private sector. Participants must have taken the IS 547 course prior to attending this course.

There is no cost for the training; however, the employee’s office, directorate, or agency is responsible for all travel costs associated with this training.

Class size is limited to 30. A waiting list will be established and applicants will be contacted should there be any cancellations. If the online registration system is full, please contact Michael.Brinkman@fema.dhs.gov to be placed on a wait list.

Please submit a completed FEMA Form 119-25-1 (2/12) (General Admissions Application, February 2012) to the Lead Instructor on the first day of class.

Effective 1 October 2012 – You will need a Student Identification Number to take any EMI Course (online or classroom). This is mandatory. See back page of this announcement – STUDENT INDENTIFICAION NUMBER to obtain your Student ID Number. Registration Forms without a Student Identification Number will not be processed which will cause a delay in processing course completion certificate.
